Lets talk about some of the attractions when having a holiday in Brisbane. The parks are the best attractions for many visitors. When visiting Brisbane, make certain to include a long and hugely delightful walk in the Town Botanic Gardens which stretch in a tasty arc for over 20 hectares on the banks of the Brisbane Brook. The gardens occupy the light slopes which roll down from the elegant Old Govt. House (built in 1860, with many successive additions) and the French Renaissance-style Parliment House (erected in 1869) to the river banks.

They were formally laid out by Walter Hill the first Gardens Director, who started the gardens by planting rows of indigenous bunya pines and adding plants like poinciana and jacaranda.

It is also superb for a lazy meander in the warm subtropical sun. The city has spent millions converting this into an area similar to Darling Harbor in Sydney or Fisherman?s Wharf in San Francisco. The walkways, parks and restaurants give the whole area a chilled ambience. See you soon.
