Realtor Footwear Isn't Just About Your Shoes!
I was showing a pretty pricey house to one of my all time most elegant clients.? And we were meeting the listing agent, one of 
the city's most elegant Realtors, at the house.
It had been raining outside, and at the front door it became immediately obvious that it was time to remove our designer shoes to ensure we didn't track in any dirt.
Then I remembered.? I got dressed in a huge hurry.? Because I was going to wear slacks and a jacket, I decided to wear some black socks. Besides it was a little chilly outside.? As I slipped off my shoes, there it was!? Willie had chewed a little hole in the toe, and I decided to wear the holey sock anyway!
And there were four eyes staring at this footwear faux pas, and by this time the old "stitch in time saves nine" adage had kicked in.? My perfectly manicured big toe was poking through a much larger hole that I'd started out with that morning.
My mother was right.? She always preached the clean socks and undies thing - you know, you never know when you might be in an accident and wind up in an emergency room!? And if she'd known I was going to grow up to be a Realtor, I'm sure she would have suggested that you never know when or in front of which elegant clients or colleagues you might be asked to remove your shoes!
